Trust is one of the main factors in my interaction with people. That heightens when it pertains to my healthcare. I'd been a patient for years at the previous clinic under another doctor. But it wasn't until I encountered Dr. Cooper that I'd felt that level of trust and sense of comfort. From that visit on, she became my PCP and my go-to! In Dr. Cooper, not only was I able to be myself, but she allowed me to talk openly about mental health, which is a silent topic in today’s society. She helped me navigate through attaining and maintaining a clean mental health. She never rushed me, nor did she make me feel that she had no interest in what I had to say. I never had nor felt that "copy and paste" feeling which is where a doctor is so detached that they recite the same script of empathy to each patient. Dr. Cooper is incredibly knowledgeable. She always took time to answer my questions. The atmosphere was always welcoming. She is not only a skilled professional but also compassionate. I felt genuinely cared for during all of my visits. She has a great bedside manner and listens attentively. I felt heard and understood. I also felt comfortable asking questions and discussing my concerns because she is very approachable. My overall experience with Dr. Cooper exceeded my expectations. I met Dr. Emily Cooper at a Sentara Medical Facility in Chesapeake, VA about 15 years ago. She was assigned to be my primary care physician after my previous physician had left Sentara. My immediate first impression of Dr. Cooper after our first appointment was that she surpassed all my previous doctors in personability and professionalism. She was attentive, inquiring and gave me the best care in that 45-minute appointment of any doctor. I have followed her journey ever since she left VA to be a medical director in NC. To me, ownership of her own practice and facility is absolutely the best next step in her medical journey, and I believe she is ready to further share with the doctors and patients at her practice her exceptional skills in medicine.
