FAQs
How long does it take?
Most infusions take 45-60 minutes to complete. Shots take 10-15 minutes to complete.
How long do the effects last?
Depending on your health status, effects can last up to three to four days after receiving the treatment.
How often should you get an IV?
The frequency of treatments is determined by your current health status and health goals. Some people benefit from weekly to biweekly infusions while addressing immediate gaps in wellness and these treatments can be spaced to monthly once health status has improved.
What are the side effects?
Side effects are rare but may include bruising or soreness around the injection site. Some people experience a cooling sensation during the infusion or have a fleeting taste the vitamins and minerals.
Are there age requirements?
Patients must be at least 16 years of age and weigh 100 or more pounds to receive treatment.
Does IV therapy hurt?
The nurse or doctor inserts a needle into the arm, but the level of pain is usually described as a small pinch. The pain should not continue after the needle is inserted. Your team at Dominion Health Family Wellness Center is well trained to find a vein and secure the needle with minimal discomfort.
